Council Programs

Board of Education

Candidates for the CCSD Board of Education are invited to present their views and answer questions from community members prior to BOE elections.

Founder's Day Celebration

Individuals who have made a significant contribution to the children of Clarkstown are honored. All PTA Presidents attend with their building Principal for a meaningful candle lighting ceremony, 20 graduating seniors are awarded scholarships, and Reflections winners at the State and National level are honored. It is an evening where the work of PTA is highlighted, the accomplishments of our students are recognized and the theme of community is ever present.

Pick a Reading Partner (PARP)

The PARP Program is a reading program which encourages parents, guaradians or role models to read with their child at least 15 minutes a day. CCSD Elementary School PTAs design and implement a PARP Program each year as a way of promoting a love of reading in our children, enhancing family connections between parent and child and supporting literacy in our schools.

Scholarship Program

$500 scholarships  are awarded to 10 graduating seniors from each of our High Schools. These scholarships are funded through our School Photography Program and the generous participation of our elementary school, middle school and high school PTAs.

Parent Academy

designed to meaningfully engage parents, strengthen partnerships in education, and enhance the home - school connection.

Through workshops, webinars, and events, families will gain valuable insights into academics, social-emotional learning, parenting supports, and more. Sessions and workshops are open to all.

Reflections

The Reflections Program offers students the opportunity to create works of art for fun and recognition. Students in preschool through grade 12 are encouraged to create and submit works of art in six areas: dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and the visual arts. For nearly 40 years, the program has encouraged millions of students across the nation and in American schools overseas to create works of art. The Reflections Program was started in 1969 by then Colorado PTA President Mary Lou Anderson.

Staff Appreciation Breakfast

PTA Council provides a breakfast buffet for all the staff at the CCSD Central Administration Offices at Chestnut Grove.  This event provides PTA Council with a way to say thank you to our hard-working central office staff for all they do!
